Since the boom of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in December 2017, the cryptocurrency space has drawn a lot of attention from various industries. The space also drew the attention of celebrities with Ellen DeGeneres and John Oliver talking about cryptocurrencies on their show.
On 31st August 2018, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, popularly known as Eminem, one of the top rappers in the music space, announced a new surprise album, Kamikaze. The album is a follow-up to his previous album which was released in 2017, Revival.
The song ‘Not Alike’ feat Royce Da 59 from the album ‘Kamikaze’ mentions Bitcoin [BTC], the ruling coin of the cryptocurrency space. The song says ‘Remember everybody used to bite Nickel; Now everybody doin’ Bitcoin’. This part is rapped by Royce Da 59.
This has riled up the whole cryptocurrency space with the majority claiming that Eminem is stepping in to spread the awareness of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

“It’s a sign of growing mainstream awareness, but that mention itself isn’t going to cause anything to happen.”
“Slowly but surely, Cryptocurrencies are becoming a part of popular culture. The more ‘mainstream’ Cryptocurrency becomes, the more widespread adoption it will have.”
Moreover, Eminem is not the only rapper who joined the crypto craze.
Recently, Snoop Dogg, another well-known rapper in the music industry showed his support towards cryptocurrencies. He performed at the New York Blockchain Week, specifically for the XRP community. Ripple had sponsored the event and invited Snoop Dogg to perform in order to spread awareness of XRP.
