Justin Sun Confirms That PornHub Integration Is Big For TRON

PornHub, is slowly becoming a bit of a crypto hub (so i’ve been told of course). The adult entertainment website now accepts a range of cryptocurrency payments for their subscription service. This crypto revolution began in April when the website announced they would be accepting Verge XVG. Since then, a number of other cryptos have been added to the website, with TRON TRX being one of the latest additions.

It’s good news for the cryptos involved, porn is a big industry with a lot of money flowing in and therefore, it can only be assumed that a lot of this money (through PornHub at least) is set to be diverted into the crypto markets. From the TRON perspective, so far it seems that this integration has had a very positive impact.

TIP

According to AMBCrypto, the PornHub integration seems to have inspired a number of other businesses and companies to look to start accepting TRX. Through August, TRON has seen huge levels of adoption and Justin Sun, the founder of TRON is pretty pleased with himself:

“Justin Sun said that the TRX payment channel has taken another step towards expansion. This is because of the recent partnership with Pornhub, one of the biggest adult entertainment industry. This also includes the collaboration with Bitcoin Superstore, a cryptocurrency only store which enables users to purchase products from over 20000 online retail stores. Justin further added that Tron has established a partnership with the social media giant, Line and that the token has been successfully listed in the Bitbox exchange. In addition to this, TRX has been listed on various exchange platforms. This includes Kryptono, CoinSwitch, Coinex, Bitnovo, Kucoin, and Atomic.”

Each and every integration of TRX gives TRON a new use, a new value and a new reason that should in turn inspire people to invest. If people know they can use their TRX when investment isn’t going to play, they are going to be more confident when it comes to buying it.

The TRON community is growing and the project is getting bigger and bigger. It’s been a quiet few months for TRON, now though, things are finally on the up and all is looking very good indeed.

Pornhub Now Accepts a Cryptocurrency You’ve Never Heard Of

PornHub now accepts an open source blockchain-based payment solution called PumaPay.

TIP

Developed by Cyprus-based blockchain company Decentralized Vision, PumaPay offers a “PullPayment protocol,” which it says allows for transactions that have never been possible on the blockchain until now. That includes recurring payments and pay-per-use transactions.

“PumaPay’s technological solution, the PullPayment protocol, reverses the mechanics of a transaction, enabling merchants to ‘pull’ crypto funds from their customers’ account,” PumaPay CEO Yoav Dror explained in a statement. “With PumaPay, merchants avoid the drawbacks of the current banking systems, such as high transaction costs, the insecurity of chargebacks (reverse transactions) and associated fines, and the lack of customer anonymity.”

In other words, with PumaPay, you can set up a recurring Pornhub Premium payment to ensure you’ll never lose access to the HD, on-demand porn streaming service.

LIONBIT

Besides PumaPay, Pornhub’s list of accepted cryptocurrencies also includes Verge, Tron, and ZenCash.

“As one of the most viewed websites in the world with over 90 million daily visitors, it is our duty to stay at the forefront of innovation and ensure the privacy of our users,” Pornhub VP Corey Price said in a statement. “As decentralized payment systems continue to grow in popularity, cryptocurrencies are especially viable in the adult entertainment industry because they incorporate more anonymity tools than traditional tender.”

Meanwhile, Pornhub recently started offering a free VPN service so you can keep your porn-browsing activities private. The service, VPNhub, is available on iOS and Android. Last year, Pornhub officially switched to HTTPS, so you can access the site over an encrypted channel.

Pornhub Subsidiary Tube8 Wants to Pay You Cryptocurrency to Watch Porn

Tube8, an adult entertainment platform, is adopting blockchain and tokenization technologies in order to reward visitors with cryptocurrency for watching videos on their website.

LIONBIT

Porn Site Tube8 Wants to Pay You Cryptocurrency

To effect this process, the Pornhub subsidiary is partnering with blockchain platform Vice Industry Token (VIT) for the total tokenization of the website. This is a collaboration that will make it possible for users to get paid for engaging in activities on the Tube8 platform, such as streaming and interacting with videos. The partnership was first reported by TheNextWeb.

This development, when launched by the end of 2018, will put the entire Tube8 platform on the blockchain. It will also establish Tube8 and the first adult entertainment site to adopt token-based rewards and payment for website visitors.

While commanding a traffic volume of 150 million visitors monthly, this collaboration could turn out to be one of the most significant entries of blockchain into the mainstream. Although adult entertainment retains the reputation of early adopter for blockchain, introducing a reward system unto such a huge platform cannot go unnoticed.

Robin Turner, a Tube8 spokesperson describes the event as a paradigm shift and an achievement of a longtime pipedream.

“For as long as I can remember, getting paid to watch porn was always a pipedream; one that was always dreamed about, but never fully realized. Now however, with the introduction of VIT, we are marking a paradigm shift in how people consume adult entertainment. As opposed to having to fork over money to consume content, which some sites require, our users will get paid to consume our free content. The more they interact with our videos, the more money they earn.”

TIP

Vice Industry Token Attracts Attention in Adult Entertainment Industry

This development further establishes VIT’s presence in the adult entertainment industry, albeit for contrasting reasons. While Tube8 celebrates it partnership with the platform, there is an existing legal spat between renowned adult entertainment company, Playboy and this same VIT over non-fulfillment of a partnership contract between them a few months ago. None of this controversy was mentioned though in this latest development.

Cryptocurrency in online pornography has been touted to be a suitable implementation. The reason for this may not be far from the level of privacy which the transaction processes provide for its users. Considering the pseudo-secret nature of the adult entertainment industry, introducing private and relatively anonymous participation systems will definitely have a significant impact on the industry. More so, even with the reward, rather than subscription model being introduced.

According to Turner, VIT offers Tube8 a way to reward their viewers by monetizing content through the VIT protocol. However, before users would log in, watch a few videos and leave, VIT incentivizes them to create an account and interact with the content to generate Vice Tokens.

When implemented, this collaboration will surely chart a course for other several similar platforms that are designed to render incentivized services to users. Hence, the benefits of this development to the blockchain industry as a whole will most likely surpass the present individual goals and targets of the primary participants.

What Is Verge? Introduction to XVG

Snigger all you want – a partnership with the porn industry can make you rich.

Verge generated a lot of buzz in Spring 2018 as Pornhub announced it would accept its XVG cryptocurrency as payment on its platform. The partnership is considered a major win.

The Verge-Pornhub partnership is just one of many, and these moves are making both the media and early adopters cheer it on. Porn invented e-commerce, and Verge is more than just another Bitcoin clone. It provides true transactional anonymity, and the team behind it is forging a path to the top of the blockchain.

Verge isn’t just stopping there – its early buzz in forums questioned whether it was a pump-and-dump scheme, but now media headlines focus on high-value partnerships. It uses a Tor-based wallet, randomized IP addresses, public/private ledgers, and rumours swirling about possible partnerships with PayPal, Spotify, and more.

Before outlining the viability of Verge as a blockchain, let’s explore the XVG coin’s market performance.

About XVG Coin

Verge has a market cap of $1,133,972,634 as of May 6, 2018. This is based on a circulating supply of 14,965,688,072 XVG (out of a total supply of 16,555,000,000) at an exchange rate of $0.075772 per coin. Its peak price occurred on December 23, 2017 at a price of just under $0.25.

Verge is directly aimed at the hacktivist crowd, calling its white paper a “Blackpaper” and emphasizing its Tor wallet for Windows, Android, Linux, and OSX. It uses a hybrid TOR and I2P approach to anonymize IP addresses of wallet holders. If a transaction is compromised, the parties involved can not be seen (or vice-versa), which adds a layer of security to the blockchain concept.

Wraith Protocol is the technology that enables transactions to be written to the public or private ledger, and, like with most blockchains offering a private ledger, exchanges typically only support public transactions. Even public transactions come from random IP addresses.

Bitbns became the first Indian exchange to support Verge in May 2018, opening it up to a large crypto market that may embrace it and create price spikes throughout the next year.

I Was Told There Was Pornhub?

Verge has a somewhat complicated past that involves a name change. Its father is Dogecoin, the beloved Memecoin that was used in 2014 as the basis to create Dogecoindark. Dogecoindark isn’t a fork of Dogecoin, but an entirely separate project leveraging the name for notoriety.

Like Mufasa’s brother Scar in The Lion King (and most Disney/Marvel villains), Dark’s nomenclature destined it for accusations of pump-and-dump schemes from Dogecoin’s most fervent supporters.

A rebranding was in order, and Dogecoindark was recoined Verge in 2016.
It wasn’t long before Verge sought to hit it big via adult content. And the Pornhub network (which includes Youporn, Redtube, and more) is a big player in the tech world.

MindGeek, Pornhub’s parent company, also runs the Brazzers network, so it has a reason to invest in security. CEO Fabian Thylmann’s net worth is estimated at $300 million, and you probably never even heard of him – think about that. To put it in another perspective, recently departed Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai made $2-5 million a year during his reign, meaning he’d have to run Sony for a minimum of 60 years to get that wealthy.

While we make a few punny double entendres, Thylmann’s business is a revenue-generating machine. With hands in everything, the ability to spend a currency in the adult market (whether anonymously or not) is a major boon for any cryptocurrency.

At a bare minimum, being able to exchange XVG for adult content means it has some value on the back end. And adult content isn’t the only market for XVG – encryption and security appeal to a large demographic these days.

On the Verge of Something New

Privacy and anonymity are often associated with shady dealings. While some believe if you have nothing to hide, there’s no reason for anonymity, these same people will refuse to give you their password or pin for their bank account.

Obviously, some level of privacy is necessary, a point that took the national stage after former government contractor Edward Snowden leaked classified NSA materials showing the breadth of the secret U.S. government spy program.

People who assumed Bitcoin was anonymous because it was accepted in the Deep Web are quickly waking up to the fact that its decentralized public ledger will keep a longer record of your misdeeds than the IRS.

And Verge plans to use its MindGeek partnership to build even more – Spotify is rumoured to be interested in accepting XVG, as are PayPal and Venmo. Partnerships are a large part of crypto success, and the Verge team is actively seeking as many partners as possible.

Summary

Whether or not Verge succeeds in its goal remains to be seen, but it already came a long way from its humble beginnings. Strategic partnerships and a team willing to push for more widespread acceptance are the secret sauce in this mix, but Verge also has several key things going for it:

• Verge was rebranded from Dogecoindark to appeal to the 4chan crowd. It has a public and private ledger, and even the public ledger has anonymized IP addresses.

• Verge has several key partnerships, including porn industry giant MindGeek, whose subsidiaries include Pornhub and Brazzers.

• Verge is more efficient than Bitcoin and it meant for private transactions. Maintaining privacy is a top concern beyond the adult industry.

• Verge is leveraging its adult partnership to gain more mainstream partnerships.

By resolving a pain point, Verge is in a powerful position. It’s working hard to prove it’s not a pump-and-dump scheme, and its eye on security will be interesting to watch as government regulators tangle with cryptos and exchanges.

Verge (XVG) On The Edge To Launch An Attractive New Wallet

For all the latest news sent right to your phone join our Telegram channel

New partnerships seem to be on the horizon for Verge, so they’ve chosen to release a new wallet. Verge’s mystery partnership became known as Pornhub, then Brazzer (these associations with the adult entertainment industry were very misunderstood at the time) and now they’re trying to hook up with Spotify, Paypal, and Venmo.

With those potential partnerships in mind, the alt-coin is ready to release a new wallet while it is also trying to be included on Streamlab.

Verge XVG new wallet
This is how the Verge XVG’s new wallet looks.

Verge’s team announced the work is in progress on the backend, and they will need to make their wallet more user-friendly and its interface better. This is being designed by Waveon3, Verge‘s web and UI team. They disclosed this information through their Twitter account, and let the world know they are designing a ‘fresh look’ for the wallet alongside working on further improvements.

Verge is asking its community to press Streamlab to use the coin. Streamlab is a Silicon Valley startup which develops streaming software that lets streamers interact with viewers and monetize their content and help their channels to grow. Verge wants this business, and they’re making it clear as they tweeted this:

The community was responsive. As you can see, they retweeted that message many times and started to urge Streamlab to include Verge in their ecosystem.

Latest potential Verge partners: Venmo and Paypal

As soon as Verge announced their partnership with Pornhub, they followed Oliver Twist’s example and just kept asking for more. While the collaboration with Brazzer and Pornhub holds a lot of potential for profitability, Verge (XVG) wants to get other partnerships that are just as relevant but not as controversial. Venmo and Paypal are their current targets. TrafficJunky is in XVG’s partnership bucket already, and they’ve been going for Spotify as well.

As per yesterday’s news, some internal leakers have told the press that “Verge is aggressively pursuing PayPal via their Venmo platform.” The same sources intimated that Venmo and Paypal want to have cryptocurrencies in their platform, and they are thinking seriously about making Verge one of them.

“There is nothing in this industry like momentum, and we have it right now. It is powerful and is pumping adrenaline into the heart of this place right now,” claimed the news and then added, “Yes, we are pursuing any, and all partnerships, but the payments partnerships are at the top of our list.”

The source further says,

“And not just TPay either. Venmo is on the ‘verge’ (lol) of doing some next level stuff and we are hitting them hard to be included. I feel good about the possibilities there, I will say that.”

The same media outlet proclaimed that it spoke to a former PayPal executive who currently consults for them on the crypto subject, he said,

“Venmo will announce something by the end of 2018 and the idea is to attempt to one-up Square by bringing 5-10 cryptos onto the platform right at the outset. I can confirm that Verge is seriously in the mix.”

It is evident that apart from massive developments (latest: in the form of their new wallet design), Verge team is deploying ‘guerilla marketing’ tactics as they continue to push through any corner they can. And, seeing all these incredible developments and partnerships that the cryptocurrency is rolling out (and it seems it will continue to go in this fashion), it more likely will become a ‘must have‘ crypto in the market.

Pornhub recieves thousands of payment through Verge [XVG]!!

The new partnership of Verge [XVG] and Pornhub led to a lot of hustle-bustle in the crypto-space. The coin received a lot of positive and negative reaction following the announcement of the partnership.

Verge has seen a hike of more than 45% before the announcement of a secret partnership but preceding the announcement Verge fell more than 30% leading to speculations that the coin has made a wrong decision by partnering with the adult industry.

Verge [XVG] proved the speculations wrong as PornHub has announced that they have received thousands of Verge payments ever since they officially partnered with Verge [XVG] and stepping foot into the crypto-world.

Pornhub ARIA took the news on twitter which says:
“We have received thousands of Verge payments already not all people leave feedback”

Recently, Pornhub distributed free Verge coins in Silicon Valley to celebrate the new partnership and have also announced a reward of 300K Verge [XVG].

Jason, a cryptocurrency trader says:
“Everyone can say what they want but the partnership from Verge with Pornhub and the mindgeek network is one of the biggest achievements in Cryptocurrency”

CryptoKraToZz, a Twitterati says:
“Shit this is incredible literally only been like 2/3 days”

VergeBull says:
“Just two days in Pornhub has already processed thousands of Verge transactions. This is why they chose the coin with the strongest and most dedicated community.”

Shawn Keller, a crypto-enthusiast says:
“This was bound to happen. The marketing of the partnership was bang on. On top of that, the mass reach provided by Pornhub can’t be given by any other website. The website has billions of views every day from all around the world. This truly is one of the biggest partnership in the crypto-world and will definitely turn out to be the most successful one well.”

Verge [XVG] is currently trading at $0.072 with a market cap of $1 billion and has seen a significant rise of more than 16% in the past 24 hours.

Verge Drops After Announced Partnership With Pornhub

Following a tumultuous few months in which reactions to the Verge name ranged from ecstasy about the groundbreaking Wraith Protocol to outright accusations of scamminess, Verge delivered on their promise of unveiling their mysterious huge partner – and it’s a porn site Pornhub, which is among top 40 most popular websites in the world.

The market, however, has not reacted positively to these news. XVG price has dropped 34.51% as of the time of writing. The community does not seem to be too happy with these news – as a number of people have pointed out, who even pays for porn anymore?

In either case, Pornhub now accepts Verge cryptocurrency, a rebranded version of Dogecoindark, which split off from the original meme coin, Dogecoin, in 2014. Up there with them are also Brazzers and Nutaku, Pornhub’s sister sites, who also revealed they would be accepting the coins.

The recent controversy of Verge asking for a crowdfund of 75 million XVG, USD 3 million at the time, in order to release the name of their new partner had many believing Verge was trying to exit scam and that no such partner existed, especially when they kept pushing the date of the name release further.

Pornhub considers this partnership and the fact they will be accepting crypto “an important foray into the future.” In the case of Brazzers, the cryptocurrency will be used for adult video games. Verge is anonymity-focused, which is why Pornhub executives say they chose it over other potential partners.

The World’s Biggest Porn Site Now Accepts Cryptocurrency

The adult website Pornhub has of late taken pride in being something of a pioneer. A year ago, it implemented HTTPS encryption, making it safer for users to click without being snooped on. Last fall, it introduced a suite of accessibility features for its blind and visually impaired users. And Tuesday, it began accepting Verge, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency

Pornhub is not by any stretch the first adult site to accept cryptocurrency. Dozens already do, as do mainstream companies like Microsoft, Overstock, and Expedia. But the significance of the move lies less in the marriage of cryptocurrency and pornography than it does in the legitimization of cryptocurrency as tender generally. After all, Pornhub’s not just the largest site of its kind. It’s one of the largest sites on the web, period.

On the Verge

Accepting Verge does have specific value to Pornhub users, of course. Not everyone wants their credit card statement to have mature content on it, even pseudonymously. And while Verge cryptocurrency isn’t an infallible cloak of invisibility, it does incorporate more anonymity tools than traditional tender.

“It’s an anonymous additional form of payment,” says Pornhub vice-president Corey Price. “Offering privacy-focused payment options is something we have been looking to do for a while.”

Pornhub’s move is also notable because it chose to use Verge, a relatively unknown cryptocurrency, over cryptocurrency frontrunners like Bitcoin and Ether. It does, though, offer a few privacy-focused attributes that might make it particularly appealing to Pornhub clientele.

As for the specifics of how Verge offers that anonymity, it’s an open source project that leverages Tor, which hides your IP address by encrypting your traffic and bouncing it through a chain of computers around the world, and I2P, which differs in practice but offers the same broad strokes peer-to-peer routing. And using the so-called Wraith Protocol, Verge users can make either public or private blockchain transactions.

That last bit merits some unpacking, since that’s where the real privacy promises come into play. “Tor and I2P are great. The problem is if you’re using the public blockchain, you are leaving tracks that are completely traceable,” says Matthew Green, a cryptographer at Johns Hopkins University who is also affiliated with another privacy-focused cryptocurrency, Zcash. “Even if you connected through Tor, when you eventually cashed those coins in, people could track you.”

By putting some transactions on so-called stealth addresses, rather than the public blockchain, you can ostensibly cover your tracks. But you also expose yourself to some potential pitfalls.

“This may superficially hide the payment on the blockchain, e.g. you can donate to Wikipedia without being publicly seen on the blockchain to be donating to them,” says Emin Gün Sirer, a computer scientist at Cornell University who focuses on distributed systems. “But typically, what happens next is that the recipient groups transactions, either when organizing their wallet or when paying someone else, so the fact that you donated to Wikipedia becomes public anyway. Worse, there is nothing the sender can do to avoid this outcome.”

Green also notes that transactions on the private blockchain require a certain level of trust. “It could work well,” he says. “I guess you just wouldn’t know until something bad happened.”

Going Legit

Pornhub, along with several other major adult sites, is owned by a Luxembourg-based company called MindGeek; its sister sites Brazzers and Nutaku will accept Verge as well, with more to follow. But both they and their customers might want to brace themselves.

Other companies, after all, have been burned by cryptocurrency before. Microsoft bowed out of bitcoin briefly in January, but reversed course a few days later. Payments startup Stripe began accepting bitcoin in 2015, only to drop it earlier this year, citing extreme volatility. Both moves followed a huge spike and subsequent drop, a pattern all too familiar to bitcoin observers. In December, a single bitcoin was worth nearly $20,000. Today, it’s closer to $8,000.

“Bitcoin has evolved to become better-suited to being an asset than being a means of exchange,” wrote Stripe CEO Tom Karlo at the time, appending a host of reasons for its transactional decline: slow confirmation times, high fees, and that seemingly never-ending roller coaster of value.

Verge, too, has seen a roughly 40 percent swing over the last week. And earlier this month, a vulnerability in its code apparently allowed an attacker to mine as many as 15 million coins, worth about $780,000, in the course of about three hours. The patch the Verge team pushed in response also appears to have had issues of its own.

“Other privacy coins supported stealth addresses already, and any cryptocurrency can already be operated on top of Tor,” says Sirer. “So, overall, Verge never offered a unique set of features not offered elsewhere.”

“There are inherent risks associated,” says Pornhub’s Price. “Nonetheless, we are excited to take this next step to keep current with our community’s payment preferences and offer them this viable alternative.”

And if customers take Pornhub up on the offer, that could help cryptocurrencies in general go more mainstream. “Transactions with crypto are no big deal now,” says Campbell Harvey, an economist at Duke University who studies blockchain technology, citing the big-name retailers who accept bitcoin.

The next step after offering a cryptocurrency payments system, though, is getting people to actually pay in cryptocurrency. “Bitcoin has been accepted, but nobody uses it,” says Johns Hopkins’ Green.

Which is where Pornhub might be able to make the most impact, not because of its content, but because of its scale. It’s the 32nd biggest site on the web, according to Alexa site rankings, putting it just behind Netflix and Twitch. Its customers are likely more motivated than others to seek anonymity online. As long as they’re clear-eyed about the potential downsides of Verge and other cryptocurrencies, they could help the new payment systems in general find a place in transactions, rather than being just an asset to collect.
